Tell us more about you, your style and of course, describe your love for colours?

I have always been fascinated by beautiful things and good design. I particularly love the combination of primary colors, blue, red and yellow - Memphis Milano Style inspires me a lot here. Of course, color also plays a very important role in furnishing my apartment into a happy place. Color creates atmosphere and a sense of well-being. Color is also very important to me in my apartment in Berlin, especially the long winter months are quite gray here, so I have created a happy colorful oasis that always cheers me up and inspires me. I guess, Dopamin Decor and Happy Chic is my thing.

What is your relation to home decor?

How you furnish yourself is an extension of your personality. It's remarkable how often my outfit, for example, fits perfectly into my home. As a creative person, I love to express myself within my own four walls and create my own individual space. You can collect beautiful things, arrange in your own way to create a place that has soul.

What do you think is significant for Germans interior style?

First of all, I wouldn't necessarily describe my own style as typically German. I love Berlin and enjoy living in Germany, but I get my inspiration from all over the world. I love Palm Springs and California, for example, and am inspired by colorful design hotels which I love traveling to.
Typical for German interior design is certainly the great love for Scandinavia, the brands from Sweden and the typical Scandi style. There's no doubt that even in the mainstream, the Swedes have exceptionally good taste in furnishings.

Do you follow trends? Are trends even important?

I would be lying if I said I was free of trends. I spend a lot of time on Instagram, I live in a big city - trends inspire me. Color is an important trend at the moment, which I am of course delighted to see. When I furnished my apartment 4 years ago, it was still very difficult to find something in my style. So if the trend is to get more color into your home, I def like it ;) I think it's important to be aware of your taste. Ideally, we create things for our homes that will stay with us for longer. That's why it's better to focus on quality rather than constantly chasing new trends and to give yourself some time when deciding for new items. I did those mistakes myself, bought some products a bit hastily and then quickly got fed up with it.

What are your best home styling advices?

1. Let the interior design take time.
2. Surround yourself with things that "have a soul" or a special meaning.
3. Invest in quality.
4. Dare to use color, small accessories can be enough.
5. Make your home your own. This is where you take care of your energy so it is important that your home is truly yours.
